The TRP chart ruler, Diya Aur Baati Hum, has added another feather to its cap. After staying ahead in the TRP race and winning Telly awards for being the best show on television, this daily soap has bagged something bigger this time around.

Shashi Sumeet Mittal’s Diya Aur Baati Hum has been honoured with an award for the Best General Entertainment TV Fiction Show in an Indian Destination at the Cinemascapes. Cinemascapes is an event that celebrates tourism through cinema and entertainment.

We contacted Sumeet Mittal, the producer of the show to know about his feelings about winning this award. He said, “It feels really nice and it is good for the television industry too. Earlier these awards were only for films and I am glad that this time they have added television also. This time they have two categories; one for shooting in India and the other one is for shooting abroad. Diya Aur Baati Hum got for shooting in an Indian destination and that’s for all the sequences that were shot in Pushkar.”
